Jaff has more than 17 years of commercial banking experience in various areas including strategy implementation, product development, cross-border collaboration and client coverage. Currently Head of Innovative Business & Growth, his team drives the Commercial Banking’s ecosystem strategy. One of his key objectives is to drive the bank’s proactive engagement with the innovation & technology ecosystem builders, with an ultimate goal to help aspiring entrepreneurs and startups to realize their hopes and dreams by offering them with the right banking and beyond banking solutions at the right time.
Jaff is currently a committee member of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. He graduated from Imperial College of London with a MEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

Joseph, based in Hong Kong and Canada, works at the crossroads of business execution and strategic development both as an investor and operator since 2002. He is the Managing Partner of Saltagen Ventures (a corporate partner of CDL-West), an early stage VC investing on science and technology-based startups as a strategic investor to assist startups scale globally via Canada and Hong Kong. A notable responsibility includes the role of Special Advisor of Hong Kong (ABLAC) for the Asia Pacific Foundation, a think tank that directly advises Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Prior to leading Saltagen Ventures, Joseph served at Citigroup Alternative Investments and at Morgan Stanley in the buy-side divisions. Thereafter, he drove the expansion of Hong Kong’s largest quad-play media company, PCCW Media, in developing their overseas content acquisition and broadcasting departments.
Managing Partner, Hustle Fund
Shiyan is an experienced operator and investor. Currently a Managing Partner at Hustle Fund, a pre-seed/seed-stage fund based in San Francisco and Singapore. Our investment process is designed to identify and invest in teams who demonstrate relentless speed.
She was most recently VP of Business Operations & Corp Dev at NerdWallet (employee #10), growing annual revenue from $1M to $150M+. Prior to NerdWallet, she was an investor at Institutional Venture Partners, a growth stage venture capital fund with $7 billion of committed capital and a 38-year IRR of 43.1%. and Bridgewater Associates, a global macro hedge fund with $160B under management. Shiyan holds a BS in Biomechanical Engineering and a BA in Economics from Stanford University as well as an Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
